Relax at the Sitting Duck

ScallopWell, it’s finally happened. Thanksgiving has officially come and gone. Not that Thanksgiving isn’t a wonderful holiday during which many of us get to see family and friends that we haven’t in a while. However, let’s be honest here for a second and admit that while Thanksgiving brings family and friends together, it also brings with it a certain level of stress, what with all the cooking and cleaning it involves.

That being said, dental implant provider Dr. Jeffrey Hoos and the rest of his staff at Brush and Floss Dental Center in Stratford, CT were all really feeling a sense of relief this morning when we walked into the office. We were also all ready to have a meal that we didn’t have to clean up after. This, of course, sparked a conversation about where the best places in town are to get a nice, relaxing meal. All of us made suggestions, but there was one place, in particular, that we all managed to agree upon. So, in light of having a quiet meal before the rest of the holiday season ensues, we decided to take a break from our normally dental orientated blogs and write an article about one of our favorite local restaurants; the Sitting Duck.

Come and Relax at the Sitting Duck

The Sitting Duck is actually new to our town here in Stratford, CT, however, it’s making quite the splash. The first thing to be said about the Sitting Duck is its atmosphere. Before you even try any of the food, once you walk into this eatery, the quaint, nostalgic décor will give you pause. Stone walls, wooden flooring, tables, and barstools fill the Sitting Duck, giving it the feel of a rustic restaurant straight out of the European countryside.

However, the Sitting Duck manages to be both rustic and modern as flat screen TV’s decorate the walls. If you are looking for a relaxing place to watch the game, or to just eat a quiet meal with friends or loved ones then the Sitting Duck is the place for you.

What’s on the Menu?

Now that you know how pleasant of an environment the sitting duck has, we bet you are getting curious about the food. One of the toughest things to accomplish when writing about food is depicting it without selling it short. Bearing this in mind, we decided that instead of trying to convince you of how good the food is at the Sitting Duck we would just tell you about some of our favorite selections form the menu. This way, if you are thinking about stopping by and don’t know what to order feel free to choose from some of the items we have already ordered and loved.
